Conceived as an exploration of residential architecture on the Granite Belt, Gilead examines the relationship between family life, landscape, and climate. Organised around a central courtyard, the plan connects public and private spaces while drawing light, air, and vegetation into the home.
The courtyard acts as the project's spatial and environmental mediator. As a sheltered garden, it moderates the internal climate, promoting natural ventilation in summer and capturing warmth and sunlight in winter.
Living spaces frame views to the surrounding landscape while balancing openness and privacy. Passive solar design, thermal mass, and cross-ventilation create a home that responds to its climate and reflects a contemporary approach to regional living on the Granite Belt.
